The RSSVL is an adult recreational league celebrating its 19th season in Regina, Saskatchewan.
The league started out with just three courts and 10 teams in 1999, and through the leadership and direction of Murray Duke, a long-time member of the Regina Rugby Union's Board and founder of the RSSVL, the league now includes ten courts, and approximately 180 teams!
Insurance for both the players and the courts are paid by the Regina Rugby Union and the RSSVL. Maintenance of the facility and site is managed by the Regina Rugby Union. Each player and team has the opportunity to use the Rugby Club for refreshments and all services during the season. The beach volleyball courts are also available for use by corporations and private groups, but additional fees will apply for these activities. Contact the Regina Rugby Union (www.reginarugby.com) for more details.
The RSSVL would like to thank Serbu Sand and Gravel for continuing to be one of the league's major sponsors, providing sand and bobcat services for maintaining the courts, as well as the Regina Rugby Union for handling the maintenance and helping to oversee the league's operations each year. We'd also like to thank our Gold Sponsors for their generous support this year: Just Volleyball; Trademark Homes; IBEW Local 2067; Regina Volleyball Club; Danmar Construction; Deveraux, Caliber Construction Group Inc., Altern; and ICP Regina Youth Volleyball, as well as to Great Western Brewing for being our beer sponsor this season!
Over the years, there have been numerous facility and court expansions and improvements, including equipment sheds, perimeter fencing, a court drainage system, a foot wash, boardwalk and a deck on the clubhouse’s west side, making the league one of the best in the province. The RSSVL has operated smoothly with no injuries and no major issues and should continue to do so for years to come thanks to its strong volunteer base.
Thank you to all of our sponsors, staff, volunteers and players for helping to make the RSSVL the success it is today!
Gerry's been the RSSVL's General Manager since 2007, handling the league's overall operations, including organizing the team schedules and special events.
Murray has operated the RSSVL since its inception in the 90’s. He coordinates the beach volleyball with the rugby union, and focuses on maintaining the courts and working with the league's General Manager.
Events will be posted as they become available.
